Whilst driving the main battery is charged via vehicle's alternator or solar panel converting power, the main battery can also charge the auxiliary battery by the DC-DC dump charger/battery charger, this means both batteries are recharged as the vehicle is moving, drivers don't need to pull over and wait all the time for both batteries to be charged fully.
